Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the free online game Meccha Chameleon (the “Game”, at chameleon-game.com) collects when you play, how that information is used, and the choices you have. Meccha Chameleon is a browser-based, instant-play hide-and-seek game — you do not need to create an account, and we do not ask for your real name, email address or payment details to play.

Information we store on your device
To let you keep your progress and settings, the Game saves data locally in your browser (using local storage) or, in the mobile app, in the app’s own storage. This data stays on your device and includes:
- Your chosen display name, selected language and country flag.
- Game progress: coins, level and XP, matches played, wins, catches, login streak and daily missions.
- Items you own and have equipped (skins/avatars, chameleon shape, paint gun, color palette, stickers, title, custom pose).
- Audio, graphics, sensitivity and haptics settings.
- A randomly generated device identifier and a recovery code used to remember your device and restore any online entitlements — these are not linked to your real-world identity.
You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for chameleon-game.com, or by uninstalling the app. Clearing it will reset your local progress and settings.
Information sent to our servers
Meccha Chameleon is an online multiplayer game. Our game servers run on Cloudflare. When you play online, the following information is processed:
- Multiplayer gameplay: your display name and in-match state (position, pose, color, actions) are shared in real time with the other players in your room so the match can work.
- Leaderboard identity (optional): if you choose to set a name and a PIN to appear on the leaderboard, our server issues a signed token that your device stores; we keep your display name and stats for the leaderboard. We never store your PIN in plain text.
- Usage analytics: we record basic, anonymous usage signals to understand how the Game is used — a random session identifier, your device identifier, your language, session start/end, and counts of advertisements shown. This is aggregate/reference data and is not used to identify you personally.
- Technical data: like any website, our servers automatically receive your device’s IP address and standard request information to deliver the Game and keep it secure.
Advertising
The Game is free and is supported by advertising. On the web we use Google AdSense, and in the mobile app we show rewarded and interstitial ads. Third-party ad providers such as Google may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads, and — where permitted — to show personalized ads based on your interests.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Game itself uses local storage rather than tracking cookies for its own features. However, our advertising and infrastructure partners (Google, Cloudflare) may set cookies or use similar technologies in your browser as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so will not stop you from playing, but may affect the ads you see.
Third-party services
- Google AdSense / Google — advertising and measurement (privacy policy).
- Cloudflare — website hosting, game servers and security (privacy policy).
- Discord — our optional community chat, if you choose to join.
- Google Play & Apple App Store — if you download the optional mobile app.
These services process data under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Children’s privacy
Meccha Chameleon is a family-friendly game, but it is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Where required, advertising shown to users we believe may be children is limited to non-personalized ads.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing such as personalized advertising. Because the Game does not require an account, most of your data lives on your own device and you can clear it yourself at any time. Data retention & security
Local data remains until you clear it. Server-side leaderboard and aggregate usage data are kept only as long as needed for the features and analytics described above. We use reasonable technical measures (including Cloudflare’s security infrastructure and signed tokens) to protect data, though no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
